Kim Seok-jin is a singer and songwriter from South Korea. He is the oldest member and vocalist of the South Korean boy group, BTS. As a songwriter, he has five songs accredited to his name by the Korea Music Copyright Association.
Jin BTS got an offer to join SM Entertainment when he was 15 years old by someone he met on the street, but he did not accept the offer. BTS's Jin debuted as one of BTS's four vocalists on June 13, 2013 on Mnet's M Countdown with the song "No More Dream" from their debut album, 2 Cool 4 Skool. Although he had written songs before, he first co-produced a solo song from the Wings album "Awake" which peaked at number 31 on the Gaon chart and number 6 on the Billboard World Digital Singles Chart. In December 2016, he released a Christmas version of "Awake" on SoundCloud.
