Naegele is a gestational age calculator, which is developed to replace pregnancy wheel and provide further functionality. It is a medical application intended for health professionals, however, it has a simple interface that can be used by anyone. The video on the Google play store shows how to use the application. Naegele has several screens which you can slide between.
1) Dating with LMP Screen: Calculations are based on the last menstrual period. Besides calculating the due date and gestational age several other weeks are calculated. To navigate between LMP and menu screens use horizontal swipe.
2) Menu screen: Navigate to other modules, to return to menu use vertical swipe or back button
a) Dating with ultrasound screen: Calculations are provided in two tabs
- ultrasound measurement result as age and weeks
b) Dating with CRL: CRL measurement as mm is used for calculations
c) Dating with IVF screen: calculations according the transfer date and the age of the embryo
d) Dating with due date screen: calculations according to due date
e) Discrepancy calculator screen: Calculates the difference and degree of discrepancy between LMP and calculated LMP from the ultrasound
f) Bishop score screen
g) Institute of medicine pregnancy weight gain chart screen
h) Settings screen:
- Can edit calculated the weeks
- Can change the date format for results
- Can edit the report – this is a python dictionary, consequently strict formatting rules apply during changing the report
- Can change the screen background color
Each screen can be shared without adds with other applications e.g. mail, whatsapp via the share icon. Each dating screen has also a report function.
Application works without internet. The application interface contains only banner adds at the bottom of the window. Of note, there is no year selection which is handled by the application. Info button in the main application window provides concise information about how to date the pregnancy. All of the calculated results can be copied to clipboard as unformatted text via touching on the result.
